QUICK GUIDE ON BALI

Checked the places and routes on the most popular island.

CHANG

Trendy area for surfers, where dwells a large part of the European downshifters. Beaches, rice fields, discos and nice cafes and restaurants. The schedule here is about surfing or yoga, Breakfast in Crate Café, the beach club Finn's, where you can stay until sunset, and dinner at the Moana, serving fresh tuna, and after party in the famous Deus Ex Machina or skaterboy Mecca Pretty Poison. It is close to a beach with black volcanic sand of Mengening.

SEMINYAK

Another fashionable district of Bali, captured by the Australians, but more expensive. Famous beach clubs Potato Head and Ku De Ta still make good supplies of musicians, but you should go there only for them. By themselves, the institution has lost its gloss, and if you are just looking for a place with food and music to wallow by the pool, it is better to go at the W Hotel – great pool with sun beds and access to the beach, a DJ at sunset. Best Breakfast in Sisterfields to their acai bowl no closer no school on the island. Next door – U Look Hot in Bikini. This place is the same team that for fancy dinners and cocktails. Even in Bali is very developed coffee culture, but not necessarily drinking questionable coffee Luwak plantations. It is better to go in one of the cafes like Revolver Espresso, where the owners also take the local grain, but do not pass them through the stomach of the animal, and make different types of roasting and as a result, a perfect flat white. Deciding to go to the Spa, pay attention to Sundari (the best ratio "price quality"), luxurious The Legian Bali, the Alila Spa or Spring Spa youth.

UBUD

District, is like no other in Bali. Endless rice terraces, jungle, boutique hotels (suggest Stone House and Bambu Indah) and a Paradise for yoga lovers. For practices there are several main places: The Yoga Barn (huge center, rather reminiscent of Disneyland, with classes in large groups, and a strong schedule), Intuitive Flow (terrace with views of the valley, small groups) and, in our opinion, the best option is Ubud Yoga House (you do right in the midst of paddy fields, in small groups, everything is very peaceful). In Ubud are traditional dance performances at the temples, very beautiful and very touristic. Here the famous rice paddies, which are worth a visit and the Monkey Forest, which visit is not mandatory. When you're hungry, go to the fashionable Milk & Madu, Kafe or gastronomic Hujan Locale, Mozaic Restaurant, Bali, Locavore. Individual experience will be a visit to the Karsa Spa, more like a Botanical garden. Book early and combine with a walk along Campuhan, a rare place in Bali where you can take long walks on foot.

JIMBARAN

Peaceful area where usually the villas have five-star hotels to settle families (among them the Four seasons, Mövenpick Resort & Spa and Karma Jimbaran). The main attraction here is dinner by the sea during sunset. All the restaurants are about the same and are as follows: first, you finger-choose the fish, crab or other crustaceans, and then the way that you want all the seafood cooked. From non-obvious: offer you to order the crab soup.

KUTA

We can think of only one reason why you may need to Kuta, is a surfing school. For those who are going to conquer the waves for the first time, Kuta is likely to be a mandatory part of the program. If you want to learn how to surf in Russian, then go to Surf Discovery. If you want classes in English, you in Rip Curl School of Surf. From the budget and at the same time, high-quality options there Odyssey's, where I teach local. Yet there is a market of street food, which can be considered as a separate item on the agenda of the local culture. Otherwise, suggest you avoid Kuta because of what is happening here, the Orgy is more like Anapa or Phuket.

ULUWATU

The southern part of the island, where you can combine beach holidays, surf and rest in a great beach club (although many of them do not have direct access to the ocean and located on a cliff and invite you to swim in the pool and the ocean view). On the beach Dreamland will be able to ride for both beginners and advanced surfers. It all depends on the waves and the ocean schedule you best tell local trainers. After a workout, go to eat in Bukit Café. Here are all the same avocado-toast and smoothies-a bowl, there is a menu of lunch and dinner (be sure to try the chicken teriyaki in a pineapple for dinner and match bowl for Breakfast). The second option – Drifter. Here dishes a little harder, feed more interesting, but the taste still wins Bukit Café. From the beach club pay attention on that this summer modern and minimalistic Ulu Cliffhouse or more pathetic El Kabron. And, most likely, you've heard about the Omnia night club with powerful supplies, built in the form of a cube over the ocean. If you are looking for still real beach with sand and ocean, you in Sundays near beach Karma. Beach clubs usually operate on the Deposit, in some places there is a separate entrance fee.

NUSA DUA

Near Uluwatu, on the East side of Nusa Dua. It is a quiet beach area where you can enjoy a swim in the ocean, which is rare for Bali. Coral reefs protect the beaches of Nusa Dua beach from big waves. As for the romance, it is better to just choose a luxury hotel and enjoy all that it offers. The choice of The St. Regis, Grand Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton. Apart from the beaches there is a good Museum pasifika art of the Asia-Pacific region.

AMED

If you love diving, then you need to live in Amed. Between dives you can go see Ujung water Palace with views of the Agung volcano. Take a walk through the territory, feed the fish, rent a boat, you can see the Palace itself – all this is not very exciting, but still nice. If we talk about food, there are almost no fashionable gluten-free places, mostly barungi traditional nasi goreng (rice with chicken, vegetables and scrambled eggs).

BATUR

One of the indisputable advantages of Bali compared to the other exotic Islands, rich cultural program and all sorts of leisure (if at all there is a desire to do something). Many options of activities are a result of very questionable pleasure, but that's exactly what should be done is to climb the Batur volcano to see the sunrise. There are, of course, and cons: you can go you will most likely have to look far (the volcano is on the North of the island), climbing at about 4 o'clock in the morning and this can be done only in groups with a guide. And these groups are always very-very much, so there will be times when you'll just slow procession with lanterns in the hands in the tracks to climb the mountain. The ascent takes about an hour. But after waiting for you the moment that may become the brightest impression for the whole trip. You greet the dawn above the clouds, around you run wild monkeys, and then you go down the crater of the volcano, and the sides of fumaroles producing steam, and coniferous trees with the morning Roscoe.
